Elementary Basketball Program
Elementary Basketball Program Debuts at P.S./I.S. 210
This year marks an exciting milestone for our school as P.S./I.S. 210 proudly launched its first-ever elementary basketball program. Designed to nurture teamwork, confidence, and athletic skill, the program features both a boys’ team and a girls’ team representing our school with pride.
Our student-athletes compete against other elementary schools across District 6, gaining valuable experience and building strong connections within the community. Games are held both during the school day (1:00 PM–2:00 PM) and after school (3:00 PM–4:00 PM), giving families and staff multiple opportunities to cheer on our teams.
To prepare for competition, both teams practice together after school every Thursday and Friday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We’re thrilled to offer this new opportunity and look forward to watching our young athletes grow throughout the season.
Elementary Soccer Program
Coed Soccer Program
The elementary school soccer program is the longest-running athletics offering at P.S./I.S. 210, proudly serving our students for nearly a decade. As our oldest and largest sports program, it continues to bring together young athletes from across the school community.
This coed program meets on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM, giving students an energizing and active start to their day. Throughout the year, players participate in occasional scrimmages against neighboring schools, gaining valuable experience and building sportsmanship. Most sessions, however, focus on in‑house games and skill-building activities that allow students to learn, compete, and grow together.
With the highest student participation of any sports program at P.S./I.S. 210, the soccer program remains a cornerstone of our school’s commitment to teamwork, physical fitness, and joyful play.
Girls’ Soccer Program
This year, P.S./I.S. 210 proudly introduced its first-ever girls-only soccer program, expanding athletic opportunities for our students and strengthening our commitment to inclusive sports. The program is open to girls in 5th grade and middle school who are eager to build their skills, stay active, and play in a supportive, team-centered environment.
Participants meet for girls-only practices every Friday morning from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM, giving them dedicated time to train, collaborate, and grow as athletes. Since its launch, the program has been remarkably successful in increasing girls’ participation in soccer and fostering a strong sense of confidence and community among players.
Middle School Soccer Team
Now in its second year, the P.S./I.S. 210 middle school soccer team continues to grow as a vibrant and competitive part of our athletics program. This coed team welcomes students who are eager to develop their skills, represent the school, and build strong connections through teamwork and sportsmanship.
The program runs across two seasons each year: the Winter Season from September to November and the Spring Season from March to May. During the 2025 Spring Season, the team earned an impressive 4th‑place finish among all Upper Manhattan schools. In the 2025 Winter Season, they secured 8th place, demonstrating steady progress and determination throughout the year.
Practices take place on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM. All sessions are intramural and open to any interested middle school student, ensuring that every athlete, whether officially on the team or simply exploring the sport has the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow.
🏀 ACDP After‑School Girls Volleyball Team at PS/IS 210
The After‑School Girls Volleyball Team at P.S./I.S. 210 is quickly becoming one of the school’s most dynamic and competitive athletic programs. Our middle school athletes train with purpose and intensity as they prepare to take on other schools across the district. Each match gives players the chance to showcase their skills, push their limits, and represent P.S./I.S. 210 with pride.
Volleyball offers far more than competition. Physically, players build strength, endurance, agility, and coordination through fast‑paced drills and gameplay. Emotionally, the team environment helps students develop confidence, resilience, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Mentally, volleyball sharpens focus, strategic thinking, and quick decision‑making — skills that benefit students both on the court and in the classroom.
The girls volleyball team is a place where athletes rise to challenges, celebrate hard‑earned victories, and grow into strong, disciplined competitors. It’s a program that inspires excellence and brings out the best in every player.
🏀 ACDP After School Basketball Team at PS/IS 210
The ACDP After‑School Basketball Team at P.S./I.S. 210 is more than just a game, it’s an opportunity for students to grow stronger, more confident, and more connected. Open to our middle school scholars, this high‑energy program gives students the chance to train, compete, and represent our school as they play against other middle schools in a fun, supportive, and structured environment.
Physically, basketball helps students build strength, coordination, endurance, and healthy habits through regular movement and teamwork. Emotionally, being part of a team boosts confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging—students learn how to manage emotions, celebrate wins, and grow from challenges. Mentally, players develop focus, discipline, strategic thinking, and leadership skills that carry over into the classroom and everyday life.
Led by the ACDP After‑School Program and proudly housed at P.S./I.S. 210, our basketball team encourages sportsmanship, accountability, and school pride. Whether students are new to the game or looking to sharpen their skills, joining the ACDP Basketball Team is a powerful way to stay active, build friendships, and shine both on and off the court.
