  Purpose of Parent-Teacher Conferences

  • Discuss Academic Progress: Teachers share how the student is performing in subjects like reading, math, science, and writing.
  • Review Assessments and Work Samples: Teachers may show test scores, classwork, or projects to illustrate the student’s strengths and areas for growth.
  • Talk About Behavior and Social Skills: Teachers provide insights into how the student interacts with peers, follows classroom rules, and participates in activities.
  • Set Goals: Together, parents and teachers can set academic or behavioral goals for the student.
  • Address Concerns: Parents can ask questions or raise concerns about their child’s learning, behavior, or well-being.

  Bronx Botanical Garden

  Bronx Botanical Garden Field Trip

  Classes will be participating in an educational field trip to the Bronx Botanical Garden as part of our current "Living Systems" unit of study.

   

  The classes will participate in an educational program that describes "Life in the Rain Forest" by stepping into the layers of the rain forest to discover its unique climates, biodiversity, and adaptations.

  Students will learn about plants used for food and medicine and will also have the opportunity to pot up a tropical plant to bring home. This experience will provide valuable, hands-on learning that directly connects to our curriculum.

  This workshop will be host by The Triple P for Teens – 

  Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) is an internationally recognized parenting support model that provides practical strategies to:

  • Strengthen parent-teen relationships

  • Promote emotional regulation and resilience
